为了提升民众对艺术教育重要性的醒觉，联合国教科文组织定每一年的五月第四个星期为《世界艺术教育周》。呼吁通过各类的健康艺术教育形态，让执行人、艺术教育以及艺术前线工作者的紧密合作。共同推广艺术教育，加强教育政策，发挥高质量艺术教育的潜力，以革新教育系统，实现关键的社会及文化目标。
马来西亚少儿美术教育协会正积极响应教科文组织倡导的行动。除了属下会员在全国范围内展开一系列教学媒体参于活动。主要的重点策划既将在本月27日(星期日)时间为上午9时至下午3时正。于新山陈旭年街主办《新山艺术教育嘉年华》。这项盛会有幸联合陈旭年文化协会、伊斯干达发展局共同协办赞助。同时也召集越过二十家相关单位参于呈献各式艺术教育活动。现场除了备有汇集全国各地少儿美术作品展出之外，还有陶艺、彩砂瓶、刷子小动物、玻璃彩绘、芭迪彩绘等手工坊，也有亲子绘本说故事活动。节目精彩丰富！
诚意邀请关注美育的家长携子女结伴同行，参与这意义非凡的活动，体验艺术创作的魅力。扩大对美术教育的重要性的识知！
